Message from the President

This year, SIM University (UniSIM) turns five. In the league of established universities, where age is counted in decades and centuries, ours is a short history. Yet, we can be proud of these pioneering years. They were groundbreaking years of laying the foundation to establish a university that is different from the others in Singapore – one that is dedicated to providing adults with the opportunity to obtain a university degree.

And we have accomplished much. Currently, some 11,000 students are enrolled in our 44 programmes and are taught by over 700 full-time academic staff and part-time faculty members. Our alumni network has crossed the 10,500 mark and our staff strength has increased to support these expanding numbers.

Our remarkable growth would not have been possible without the support, encouragement and assistance from authorities, employers, partners and associates. Together, we will continue to strive to meet our students’ needs with a wide range of flexible, multi-mode and industry-relevant learning. Learning that inspires minds, challenges paradigms and changes lives.

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we will be having some special events and also riding on other existing anchor UniSIM events throughout the year. Do look out for them and join us in celebrating our past and welcoming our future.

Rationale 5th Anniversary Logo Rationale UniSIM is a unique and different University. Over our 5 pioneering years, we have laid a strong foundation that enables us to serve society through distinguishing ourselves in flexible learning for adult learners. The four ribbon bands on top of the logo come in the colours of our four schools, and mark our distinctive pedagogy which provides multiple and customised learning paths, flexible modes of study and delivery, and an extensive range of industry-relevant courses. These four bands of dedicated and passionate teams at UniSIM integrate with the other supporting units into one great body at UniSIM, in the spirit of learning and passion for excellence, to provide the high quality tertiary education for adult learners. The combination of these different elements also forms a beautiful 5th Anniversary logo, and on the robust foundation built up over these pioneering years, this young, energetic and innovative university will gird itself for the challenges ahead. We are ready to advance, “Onwards and Beyond”.
